Research & Analysis
I spoke with 3 potential users to get a better understanding of their lifestyle, eating habits, preferences and expections in terms of interacting with a voice skill and of course, along with their speaking style. I also analyzed Alexa and thought about how and in what ways the system persona would impact the kinds of speech I wanted Food Master to have.

Design Updates:
Allow Barge-in: All the user to speak before the system even finishes the prompts. This will allow the user to move forward and not sit through the.
Hints to increase the discoverability of “Ingredient Help” feature
Add more context in the conversation to handle requests which include references like “that”, “it”, “he”, “she”, etc.
Keep the conversation mostly open ended and limit the use of “Yes/No” questions to make the conversation more intuitive.
Conclusion
It was well-paced. It wasn’t too fast or too slow
Easy to follow instructions. The instructions were bite-sized and direct. It did not overwhelm the users
Option to gather ingredients before preparing the dish
Option to repeat and go back to the previous step or ingredients.
The skill was well received by the participants. They liked the following about it:
This was my first time designing an experience for voice and conducting a 1:1 user interview to test the same
Ask participants more questions about the product and their experience. was hesitant because I did not want to annoy the user thinking it would annoy the user.
Take physical notes: Though my camera and memory card are new, the camera stopped working during one of the interviews. Check the equipment beforehand or keep a backup.
Do not prompt the user and only help when they ask for it.
